Terms of service

The terms for using Nordtally during the free beta, including what happens when paid plans arrive.

These terms are an agreement between [Company legal name, CVR], [Registered address] (“Nordtally”, “we”) and the organisation that creates a Nordtally workspace (“you”, the customer). Nordtally is a service for businesses and public bodies. By creating an account on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you may bind it to these terms.

1. The service

Nordtally is web analytics: a tracker script, server-side and edge collection, a dashboard, reports, exports and an API for aggregate statistics about visits to your websites. Features may be added, changed or removed during the beta.

2. The free beta

  • It is free. During the beta we charge nothing and do not ask for payment details.
  • Nothing is charged automatically. When paid plans are introduced, you will only pay if you choose a paid plan yourself. If you do not, no charge is made.
  • Notice before the beta ends. We will tell workspace owners by email at least [30] days before the beta ends, with the prices and what happens to workspaces that do not choose a plan.
  • Fair use. The beta has fair-use limits on pageviews and sites, shown in your account. If you approach them we will warn you; during the beta we do not cut off collection.
  • No service level. The beta is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and your data safe, but we do not promise a particular uptime and we may need to pause the service for maintenance.

3. Your account

Keep your sign-in details secret and turn on two-factor authentication for accounts with admin access. You are responsible for what members of your workspace do with it, and for removing people who should no longer have access. Tell us at [security contact email] if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Your responsibilities as controller

You decide which websites to measure and which compliance mode each site uses. You are the controller for the visitor data, and you are responsible for:

  • choosing a mode that fits the law in the countries you serve, and collecting consent where it is required (Nordtally’s country guidance is product information, not legal advice);
  • telling visitors about the measurement, for example with the privacy text generated in the compliance centre;
  • not sending personal data to Nordtally in page addresses, event names or custom properties, such as names, email addresses or customer numbers;
  • not using Nordtally to identify or follow individual people.

The data processing agreement forms part of these terms and governs how we process visitor data for you.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • measure websites you do not control or are not authorised to measure;
  • send events that do not come from real use of your websites in order to inflate numbers or load the service;
  • try to get around fair-use limits, rate limits or security measures, or to access other customers’ data;
  • use the service for anything unlawful.

We may suspend a site or workspace that breaks these rules or puts the service or other customers at risk. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

6. Your data

The statistics about your websites belong to you. We process them only to provide the service, as set out in the data processing agreement. We do not sell them, share them or use them for our own purposes, and we do not combine them across customers.

You can export your reports as CSV and through the Stats API at any time. Exports contain aggregates only: visitor and visit identifiers never leave the system.

7. Software and licences

You may use the tracker snippet and the server-side SDKs we provide in your websites and applications; they are licensed under the MIT licence. The rest of the service remains ours. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of it to you.

9. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Nordtally and delete your workspace or account at any time. We may end the agreement with [30] days’ notice by email, or immediately if you seriously breach these terms.

When a site or workspace is deleted, its event data is deleted, and so is the site’s consent key, which makes consented-mode identifiers impossible to recompute. Export anything you want to keep first. Further details are in the data processing agreement.

10. Liability

During the free beta, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, such as lost profits, lost revenue or loss of data, and our total liability is limited to [amount]. Nothing in these terms limits liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will tell workspace owners by email at least [30] days before a change that affects you takes effect. If you do not agree, you can stop using the service before then.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Danish law. Disputes go to the courts of [venue], Denmark.
